Privacy Policy

Last updated 14 August 2026

This Policy explains what personal data Meet SO collects, why we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to meetso.app, our APIs, and the iOS and Android apps.

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy describes how Meet SO (“Meet SO”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and stores personal data when you use our websites, APIs and mobile applications, including meetso.app, api.meetso.app, and the Meet SO iOS and Android apps.

Meet SO is a social discovery service for adults. It includes profiles, matching, messaging, random video chat, personal video and voice calls, missions, virtual tokens (jetons), customer support chat, and related safety features.

Questions about this Policy: contact@sobotlar.com.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to personal data processed when you create an account, browse or use the service, contact Customer Service, complete identity or photo checks, make purchases, watch rewarded ads, or receive push notifications and app updates.

It does not apply to other people’s websites, stores or apps that we do not control (for example Google, Apple, Meta, Telegram, TikTok, or a payment provider), which have their own privacy terms.

3. Data we collect

The categories below depend on how you use Meet SO. We do not require every item for every user.

  • Account and identity: name or display name, date of birth or age, gender, email address, password (stored in hashed form), phone number if you provide one, language, and identifiers from social login (Google, Facebook, Telegram, TikTok or similar).
  • Profile: bio, interests, photos, country or city, discovery preferences, and other information you add to your profile.
  • Communications: text, photo, video and voice messages; support chat with Customer Service; call and video-session metadata (for example duration, participants, connection quality). Live video and voice streams are transmitted to deliver the call and are not intended to be kept as a permanent recording of the conversation unless a feature expressly says otherwise.
  • Safety and verification: profile photos submitted for review; short liveness / face-match media used to check that a person appears to match the account (for example blink or similar liveness prompts). These checks are for safety and anti-impersonation. They are not a government ID check and do not by themselves grant a public “verified” identity badge.
  • Device and technical data: device type, operating system, app version, over-the-air (OTA) bundle version, IP address, approximate network information, crash or diagnostics logs, and push-notification tokens (FCM / APNs).
  • Usage: matching and discovery activity, missions completed, reports you send or that concern you, feature flags, and similar product analytics needed to operate and moderate the service.
  • Payments: jeton purchases and related receipts or transaction references from Apple, Google or other payment partners. We do not store full payment-card numbers on Meet SO servers.
  • Advertising: on some clients, a device advertising identifier (for example Google Advertising ID) may be used for rewarded ads (AdMob) so we can grant mission or jeton rewards after an ad is completed.
  • Location: country and, where you allow it, more precise location used for nearby discovery and safety-related controls. You can refuse or later revoke location permission in system settings; some discovery features will then be limited.
  • On-device biometrics: if you enable Face ID, Touch ID or similar to unlock the app, that biometric template stays on your device and is not uploaded to Meet SO servers.

4. Device permissions

The app may request system permissions. You can deny or revoke them in iOS or Android settings. Some features will not work without the related permission.

  • Camera — video chat, personal video calls, taking a profile or chat photo, and liveness / face-match checks.
  • Microphone — video chat, voice and video calls, and video messages.
  • Photos / media — occasional selection of an existing image for your profile or a chat attachment. Meet SO is not a gallery or photo-backup app; we do not need broad, ongoing access to your entire library.
  • Location — nearby or country-based discovery and related safety controls.
  • Notifications — new messages, calls and similar alerts.
  • Advertising ID (Android) — rewarded advertising where that flow is enabled.

5. How we use data

We use personal data to:

  • Create and maintain your account, profile and preferences.
  • Provide matching, discovery, messaging, random video chat, and personal video / voice calls.
  • Process jetons, missions, rewarded ads and related in-app balances.
  • Review profile photos and run liveness / face-match checks to reduce fake or impersonating accounts.
  • Moderate content, investigate reports, prevent scams, spam, underage use and other abuse.
  • Provide Customer Service chat and email support.
  • Send transactional notices and, where you allow notifications, push alerts.
  • Deliver app and OTA updates, fix bugs, measure performance and improve the product.
  • Comply with law, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect the rights and safety of users and Meet SO.
  • Show and measure rewarded ads through advertising partners.

6. Legal bases (where applicable)

Where data-protection laws such as the GDPR apply, we typically rely on: performance of the contract (providing the service you requested); your consent (for example optional permissions, certain marketing, or social-login connection); legitimate interests (safety, fraud prevention, product improvement, network security); and legal obligation (for example responding to a valid authority request or retaining records we must keep).

7. Sharing of data

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as needed to run Meet SO:

  • Other users — information you publish on your profile (such as photos, name, age, bio) and messages or media you send them. Do not share anything you would not want another adult to see.
  • Service providers — hosting, databases, content delivery, email, push delivery, video infrastructure (including LiveKit and TURN/STUN relays), analytics, crash reporting, and similar processors acting on our instructions.
  • Social login providers — Google, Facebook / Meta, Telegram, TikTok or others, when you choose to sign in with them.
  • App stores and payment partners — Apple, Google and payment processors for purchases and refunds.
  • Advertising partners — for example Google AdMob for rewarded ads, including advertising identifiers where permitted by platform rules.
  • Safety and legal — if we believe disclosure is necessary to investigate abuse, protect a person, or respond to a valid legal request. Apparent child sexual abuse material may be reported to competent authorities as required by law. See also our Child safety standards.
  • Business transfers — if we reorganise, merge or transfer operations, data may move to the successor under this Policy or a successor policy.

8. International processing

Meet SO is offered internationally. Servers, video relays and processors may be located in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps designed to provide an appropriate level of protection as required by applicable law.

9. Retention and deletion

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes in this Policy, including safety, dispute handling, backups and legal retention.

If you delete your profile in the app, the profile is hidden promptly and enters a recovery period of 30 days. If you sign in again during that period, the profile may be restored. After the grace period, profile fields are purged as described in the product. Some records (for example payment receipts, security logs, or information we must keep for law, fraud or abuse investigations) may be retained longer in a limited form.

Messages you sent to other users may remain in their inboxes until they delete them. Support conversations may be kept to handle your request and train safety processes.

If you signed in with Facebook and request deletion via Facebook’s tools, we process that request through our Facebook data-deletion callback and deactivate or anonymise the linked account as described in that flow.

10. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can usually:

  • Edit profile information in the app.
  • Revoke camera, microphone, photos, location or notification permissions in system settings.
  • Disable optional biometric unlock in app settings (this does not delete your Meet SO account).
  • Delete or hide your profile using in-app account controls, subject to the 30-day recovery period.
  • Email contact@sobotlar.com to request access or deletion if you cannot complete it in the app.
  • Use Facebook, Google or other provider settings to disconnect social login, in addition to Meet SO controls.

11. Children

Meet SO is for adults 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will remove it. See our Child safety standards for our CSAE policy.

12. Security

We use administrative, technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls and hashed passwords. No online service is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for using device lock and, if you choose, in-app biometric unlock.

13. Changes

We may update this Policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Material changes may also be signalled in the app or on meetso.app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy, except where applicable law requires additional consent.
